Hi.

Are you connecting to Linux from some other computer? Are you sharing files with a Windows machine?

I'm asking this because it looks like newlines are not causing the lines to be displayed properly for you.

As you saw in both of my posts, everything looks correct when I pasted the results from my computer to the forum ... cheers, drl

Hi,
No I am not sharing any system.
I am working directly in Linux environment and I am not sharing any files from windows platform.
How can I go forward?

Hi.

So just to be sure:

1) You are running Linux. Which distribution, and what version? For example, Ubuntu Gutsy or Hardy, GNU/Debian sarge, etch, CentOS 5, etc.

2) You are running in a terminal session, you have copied my scripts, pasted them into a file on your computer, added execute permission, and run them as I indicated, as "./p1 data1", and as "./s1", and what you see as the result on the screen in the terminal window is essentially the same as the input. Is that correct? ... cheers, drl
