You should read the man page on ftp. At your prompt (% or $) type in

% man ftp

This will give you an explaination of what you can do.

Simply, you ftp to a host or IP
% ftp myserver
or
% ftp 172.16.1.20

It will then prompt you for the userid and password.

For almost ALL UNIX OS's the man pages can be found on-line either from the folks who make the OS or on other wonderful UNIX folks who have taken the time to put them out there.

Just do a search for man pages on-line, or man pages (along with whatever your OS is) and I'm sure you can find them.

Goto cmd prompt. Type ftp open "ip address". Then if you want to get the files from the server, use get for single file or mget for multiple files.

If you want to put the files into the sever, then use put for single file or mput for multiple files.

Hope this is what you want....
