Error file access rights?

Hi,

I want to execute a customised process like rating engine using a shell script from a directory other than the directory where the customizes process is placed.
I have tried it in the following way...and faced a issue
when shell script is available in directory /dir1/ and customized process is available in directory /dir2/ my shell script havent started the process, but when i placed the shell script in /dir2/ same as the directory of customized process it got executed.

Can any one help me out in understnding the cause for the failure.

Thnaks in advance

Are there any error messages ? Did you "ls -la" both folders ? Does your script calls the process / binary with a full path ? Are there executable permissions set on the binary ? Relevant snippets of your script ? OS ?
