Thanx rwuerth.

So, you mean to say if I write a long script & want the output into the terminal as well as in a log file, I have to put 'tee' for each and every command inside the script.

Yes ... and no. If you can group your commands together in code blocks, you can pipe a block of them into one 'tee'

Code:
{
exec 2>&1
pwd
fuser *
} | tee -a test.log

But you'll need to be careful how you code block your commands. At least this can minimize how many pipes to 'tee' you need.
