rsync vs cp
Hi guys,
I will be copying data from one FS to another. (only once)

These are local Filesystems...

Which tool would be more efficient to use in this case?

There is a huge amount of data that needs to be copied... (1.5TB)

To answer that let me explain the difference.

Basically cp will perform a copy from one location to another.

rsync is more advanced. Its more designed for synchronizing directories. It can copy files from one location to another like cp but if the file already exists or has not changed size or modification time (depending on the flags you use) it will not copy that file again to save time. The time it takes to copy a file should not differ between rsync and cp.
