UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi,

I've got a ksh script that expects a file name as a parameter. The script in turn executes another command "sas", after assigning some environment variables, passing that file name down the line. From the command prompt, all works swell if I type "sasbatch filename".

However, if I try to submit this to the "at" batch queue, I get an error:

$ at now < sasbatch filename
ksh: sasbatch: cannot open

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I think you should try : command | at now.
Example : xmessage test1 | at now -
pop-up will be displayed at your screen with the same string in it.

You havent given much information in order to help you.. (what - how is writen the script etc...)
But most likely if from command prompt it works, I would suspect env:
It works in interactive for it has in your environment all it needs to execute the required task which may not be the case using cron/at

I knew it was something simple! "command | at now" is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
