Data Having wireless Internet problems
I feel like the true definition of a newb but I guess you gotta start somewhere. I installed Gentoo on my laptop yesterday, it's a gnome based environment and I cannot get any wireless internet. The iwconfig and net-setup commands are not being recognized. I'm not sure what the problem is, I've worked with unix environments in labs at school but I've never had administrator status. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!!!!Smilie

More information about the wireless card would be useful. USB or PCI or PC Card or ...? One or more of lspci -v / lsusb -v / pccardctl ident ought to be a good start. Put in any interpretive help you can offer (like "that's my video card, ignore that"), or prune it down to just the relevant part if you can.
