One last thing.

So now I offically have this date '20080217' and now I only want to capture the month and day '0217' to be exact.

I tried using the cut command and that doesnt seem to be working.
Any other way or idea on how I can capture the month and day in another variable?

Thanks

Very basic, should be easy to make it more elegant:

TSTAMP1=`TZ=aaa-24 date +%Y%m%d0000`
TSTAMP2=`TZ=aaa-48 date +%Y%m%d0000`

touch -t ${TSTAMP1} /var/tmp/something1
touch -t ${TSTAMP2} /var/tmp/something2

find / -newer /var/tmp/something1 -a ! -newer /var/tmp/something2 | grep -v /var/tmp/something
