Question Ansi Color

first post and i hope this doesnt seem silly.

being new to Unix, is there any way i can turn on some ansi coloring (similar to linux)?

running SCO openserver unix 5.0+

I asume that you are saying to set Ascii color over your text editor probarbaly VI like is it ? If yes then check the latest VI version called VIM or gvim www.vim.org.
Post back if this is wrong and you would like to know some other thing rather then this...

If you're talking about the colors that are displayed (for example) by comething like "ls", you'll find that ls is actually aliased to something like "ls --color=tty". Type the command "alias" in Linux, and it'll display your bash aliases (or ksh... not sure about csh), and look for references to ls.

I doubt that you'll be able to do this without much modification to your SCO box, since they are GNU-specific options; you'd have to install a bunch of GNU tools.

Yes, i mean the ansi colors when you do a (ls) - i was thinking ansi, but typed ascii...
