Chris,

You can also use ftp to transfer files. You can incorporate the ftp commands in your shell script very easily.

For example:

Code:

(commands to create your zip file)

ftp serverABC<<EOF
user username password
cd /home/web/xyz.com/temp
put test.zip
quit
EOF

(Now you can continue with the script and issue local commands)

Try and avoid ftp, telnet, rcp, rlogin, rsh, rcmd etc. Use the secure replacements.
