XMGRACE question

Dear All,

I have just discovered Xmgrace these days. I find it quite useful for my work so I would like to use it further. Nevertheless there are few things which I did not understood how can be done.

1) Let's say that I have one file with 4 columns and I want to plot column 1 versus the sum of columns 2,3,4 i.e. #1Smilie#2+#3+#4) . How can I do this ? I know it is possible to do it in gnuplot, but in Xmgrace I couldn't find how.

2) Let's say now that we have two files a.dat and b.dat . Each file has 10 columns, with the first column being identical in the 2 files. Can I plot the first column of file a.dat versus the second column of file a.dat + the second column of file b.dat ? (i.e. #1(a.dat) : [#2(a.dat)+#2(b.dat)] ) .

I know that the answers must be very simple, but I really could't find them out.

With all the best wishes,
Ed

Hi All,

Can someone give me a hint on how to add two columns from a file with Xmgrace ?

Any suggestion would be really useful.

With all the best wishes,
Ed
