Could someone please explane Inode errors

Inodes contain information such as ownership, permissions etc. of files. Each file has an inode-number which you can view using the ls command (ls -i). So basically inode errors are errors in the filesystem.

I seen inode errors before, It happends during the startup where it claims your system doesnt shut down properly and once it checks the file system it will says some inode structure error. How about mounted file system ? Did you unmount the cdrom floppy or mount them properly? I experienced before and the point for me is the umount process. Anyway check your HDD too. I have the situation where after i saw the inode error my Hdd is damage in a second time boot. Another possible process have you tried to run fsck ? And if you cant get any answer post the Inode error code.. inode error 28 Etc.. also the best if you could post your dmesg output.
