before I start from unix where should I begain? Is from windows200? or from Linnix?

Is there have different languge such like chinses/japenses/germen...etc

If you are fresh and a New beginer in Unix you may try to go thru the Net search for the known Unix vendors webpage such as Linux, Solaris, FreeBSD and so on.. be familiar the hardware requirement with your PC. The hardware requirement is the most important factor. HDD, Memory, VGA card Etc..

Yes,
There is some selective fonts for en-users to select their own language. You may give a try. Usually it can be fixed during the installation process. Such as Selecting the System Language.

Switching from root to normal user takes me to user's home dir

Whenever i switch from root to another user, by doing su - user, it takes me to home directory of user. This is very annoying as i want to be in same dir to run different commands as root sometimes and sometimes as normal user. How to fix this? (1 Reply)

How do i change to super user then revert back to ordinary user ,using shell script?
