UNIX processes

hey,

I know that there are bash commands like top or ps that allow me to monitor processes. But how can i monitor 1 process and log the output in a file?

Solution is to write a shell script. Please post you script in case you get stuck.

Let's say that you are interested in a process with a pid of 1234. You can do: ps -l -p 1234
That "-p 1234" limits it to just that process.

truss

If it is a solaris box use the truss command
man truss
There are many options.
