Is there a way to use the ‘find' command to search only the subdirectories within a starting directory and not include the starting directory itself? Let me explain...
Let's say you want to search for files with an extension of .abc starting from directory path /A/B. The command would be as follows...

$ find /A/B -name ‘*.abc' -print

This will, of course, find all the files with the .abc file extension in subdirectory B as well as all subdirectories contained within B. This is not what I desire. What I would like to do is find all the files within the subdirectory trees within B, but not the files in B itself. I've tried various combinations of options for the find command including the -prune option. I can't seem to come up with a combination that will do what I would like. I can certainly write a script or function to accomplish this, but I was trying to do it simply with the find command. Is this possible, and if so, please elaborate?

I assume you're looking for files only. If not, take off the -type f

find /A/B/*/ -name '*.abc" -type f

I thought I had tried that. Retrying seems to work. I believe I was missing the last '/' on the search path. So simple, thank you.
