/etc/security/user file in AIX

Dear Gurus,

Can the /etc/security/user file be edit manually in AIX.


I would like to change the histsize in the default. Currently is set to 0.

Please advise whether i can just edit it manually, whether it would cause any harm?

When I enter command "netstat -Aan |grep 50000", it showed some established connections and are all db2 processes. Name
       DwtSTextSetEditable - Sets the permission state that determines whether the user can edit text in the simple text widget.

Syntax
       void DwtSTextSetEditable(widget, editable)
	    Widget widget;
	    Boolean editable;

Arguments
       widget	 Specifies the ID of the simple text widget whose edit permission state you want to set.

       editable  Specifies a boolean value that, when True, indicates that the user can edit the text string in the simple text widget.  If False,
		 prohibits the user from editing the text string.

Description
       The DwtSTextSetEditable function sets the edit permission state information concerning whether the user can edit text in  the  simple  text
       widget.
