Try this:
Code:
awk -F, '{ printf "\(\47%s-%s-%s-%s\47\,\47%s\47\)\;\n",  substr($1,1,3) , substr($1,4,2) , substr($1,6,1), substr($1,7,1) , $3 }' inputfile

Help needed again !!

Hi I am stuck again.
I have
Z22-01-0-1 Z22-01-1-A XXX Z03 Z48 ZP7 ZP2 10 0 1
I need
insert into templocs ('Z22-01-1-A','Z22-01-0-1','L','Z03','Z48','ZP7','ZP2);

At the third field I need "L" instead of XXX.I found out that for singlr quotes 47 is the ASCII value but was not successfull in making a command out of it.

Please help me.
Thanks and Regards,
Gideon.
