Help Please

Hello, I'm new here and also new to the Linux and UNIX environments and I am very interested in learning them. I have downloaded Linux Red Hat 7.2 and I would like to know if someone can inform me on how to properly burn them to a disc and install the OS. Thanks.

You should be able to copy it just like you would anything else, like MP3's.

This is the same priciple of updating your flash bios. (ie. download, copy to disk, reboot). Of course, in your case you will just copy to CD, close out the CD, and then search for the install.bat or some other install file on the CD.

If your asking if you need to compile anything, it shouldn't require that at all.

The image should be an iso image. Your CD burner should be able to burn a bootable iso image to a CD.

It may be zipped or compressed. Is there an extension on it?

Well, assuming you do have a CD burner, with halfway decent software, it should recognize the file as being a disc image. If not, you'll have to check the documentation to your software / cdr drive for instruction on burning an image.
