Hi All,

I need to remove some old files which the file creation date is older than a week. I've tried to use command: find . -atime +6 -exec rm{}.
but it seems the creation date of files shown above were not as I expected.
please your kind advice.

when i check the manual for the atime option of find command, this is what i see:
-atime n
True if the file was accessed n days ago. The access time of directories in path is changed by find itself.

if you want to delete files with a criteria which is based on the date of creation of file, then this is not the correct option to use.

are you sure you wish to delete files based on their date of creation?

alternatively, you may consider this criteria:
(1) date of last access of file (use -atime in this case) or
(2) date of last modification of file (use -mtime in this case)
