I forgot my UNIX password!!
Hello,

Is there a way to reset the "root" unix password, pretty much like you would do in linux by going into single user mode? Smilie Smilie

I think it's Sun Solaris 9 - SunOS Release 5.9

You can download solaris express 10 CD images, boot on it and edit out root's password on the Solaris 9 disk. ie., in the passwd file, edit the entry for root, set the passwd field empty.

Are there step by step instuctions to this? I am new to Unix, so any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
