Computer Ultra60 and A1000....raid manager needed just to see it?

Hi guys,

I was asked to setup an Ultra60 (Sol 8) with an StorEdge A1000. Does anyone know if a probe-scsi-all is suppose to detect it? Right now it doesn't, so maybe I answered my own question Smilie

We have an the same setup running already, but I wasn't around when that was setup.

Thanks!

yes, you should see it with "probe-scsi-all" in the OBP.. do you use the right SCSI-HBA? you will need a HVD not a LVD controller... in solaris you can configure the A1000 with the RAID-Manager (think 6.22.1 is the latest release)

That's not good I guess. I'm not sure about the HBA......our "hardware guy" was suppose to set it up with the exact specs as our existing system. He ordered the parts, threw it together, and took off on vacation for 2 weeks. He didn't bother checking the A1000 though. Smilie

I double checked and it looks like I put a LVD on the A1000. Once I take it off, probe-scsi-all sees the 6 drives in the A1000.

Now, do I still need a HVD on back of it?
