It says..../trapchk.sh[3]: 11: not found

file_length= `rsh invuk "ssh poller "ls -ltr /var/spool/get | wc -l""`

is this correct...Thanks

try as,

file_length=`rsh invuk 'ssh poller ls -ltr /var/spool/get | wc -l'`



prior executing the command in script as such,
try executing it in shell as such and give echo $file_length
that would reveal whether it is properly assigned or not !!! Smilie Smilie

Thanks a lot it workd.....the final script is....

#!/bin/ksh -x
limit=50
file_length=`rsh invuk 'ssh poller ls -ltr /fred/nmc/Data/get/ | wc -l'`
if [ $file_length -ge $limit ]; then
echo "Test Mail." |mailx xyz@yahoo.com
fi
