Hello chiefs
I have a SUN Enterprise 250, running Solaris 8.5 - I have managed to be able to connect a dumb terminal to the box via a standard straight-through rj45 cable, to my ibm laptop. OK so Putty can connect to the box via ssh - nice! But I dont have the password for root - or any other useraccount on the box
When trying to connect putty over telnet to the box, the box refuses my call, and the same happens when using ms dos command prompt telnet. So Im sure telnet has been disabled.
I thought of trying to boot a linux live cd - but I dont know how that works, since I have no monitor nor keyboard connected to the box. Theres no VGA or 13W3 jack at the back...
When reading other posts on the internet, it seems like the phat solution is to go to the ok prompt and do some magic trix - but I cant really find any description how to get to the "OK Prompt".
So do you have any hacker tricks for me to use on my own machine? -or should I try to follow the ok-prompt-road -and if so, how do I do that using putty and the standard ethernet port on the mainlogicboard. Or maybe you would like me to use the huge serial connector...
Sincerely
