It says to put it in /etc/default/filesys, sooo, why not put it in /etc/default/filesys? Be careful though. This file is probably needed for the system to boot.

If /dev/cd0 doesn't exist then look in /dev for likely devices (ls /dev/*cd*) e.g. /dev/cdrom /dev/cdrom0 /dev/cd - if the CDROM device doesn't exist then it won't do any good adding it to /etc/default/filesys
