I understand this, I have a thing I'm working on and was wondering if this could be used for it.
I have a file name Firewall.sh. In the Firewall.sh I have on line 16 the following:
JERKS="\
and line 17
IP Address\
"
I run the following command,
grep 'Illegal user ' /var/log/auth.log.0 | cut -d' ' -f10 | sort -u
and get a new list of JERKS.
I can > to NewFile
What I wold like to do is this.
cat NewFile >> Firewall.sh at line 17 but now hurt the current stuff.
After Firewall.sh is updated then run ./Firewall.sh

So to recap.
get new JERKS
add new JERKS to Firewall.sh
run Firewall.sh

Any ideas would be great.
Thank you for your time,
Jon aka KingJon
