When I enter "echo $SHELL" I get:

/bin/bash

However, my terminal window is named:

Terminal - sh -csh

How is this possible? Am I running three shells at once?

do "echo $0"
that's the shell you're running

OK, I just did. The result is:

sh

If what you are doing is logging in, then at the command line typing bash, you are losing your path.

If you want to use bash as your shell, ask your SA to change your login shell to bash.
