Data FC5 install help

Hello these problems occurred with the installation of FC5,can anyone help?
"The following errors occurred with your partitioning you have not defined a root partition. Which is requred for install of FC5 to continue.

This can happen if you do not have enough space on your HD.
"i have 300 GB"

You can try a different partition option."

I have tried them all except delete all data!!

Please help!!! Smilie

What partition layout did you define during installation?

Did you let Disk Druid automatically partition you disk, or did you specify a partitioning scheme manually?

Did you define a root partition (mounted on "/") on the disk?

Cheers

FC5 installer will not automatically resize existing partitions for you. If you so happen that your existing partitions already cover the entire disk, which is exceedingly common, even if you have lots of disk space left you will not be able to create anymore partitions.

Use PartitionMagic on Windows to resize the existing partitions if you have one, or you may as well try to switch to a virtual console during FC5 installation (try Ctrl-Alt-F1 up to Ctrl-Alt-F6) to one that contains a shell prompt, and use parted from there. Of course, as always, back up all your data beforehand!

Cbkihong thank-you, the install of FC5 was successful! I used partition magic to resize my WinXP partition Smilie
