TCP/IP speed

I have a problem...
my network speed between Windows and DamnSmallLinux 2.2 just 400Kb/s Smilie is there any way to increase it?

1 Windows XP SP2 (wireless connection 54Mbit/s)
2 DamnSmallLinux 2.2 (cable connection)
3 Router Dlink DI-524

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here..

Generally speaking there are endless possible reasons ... However there are some first choice options to try...
1. The first thing to see it is try to get your computers as close to the Dlink, wireless connection increases / decreases connection speed by steps depending on environmental noise. So let suspect first it is operating in harsh conditions, so move them close to one another and do test again. Pay attention you have to move BOTH machines closer to Dlink.
2. Another possibility that you locate in a downtown where many wireless routers distract one another by creating thick enviromental noise.
Then tune up your router:
a. try to move the Dlink to another channel (see Dlink interface).
b. try to increase the power of it (see Dlink interface).
3. I don't think it is TCP/IP issue but to make it sure with "tracepath" command from Linux box and watch MTU as you move them close. You also may wish run "ping" with big chunks to see where it is getting clogged. Try "netstat" to make sure the packets don't travel across wrong routes. "UNIX Essentials and Core" DVD addresses this kind of things.
