Data Sendmail config on AIX 5.3

Hi,
I've looked through the posts here and tried everything and cannot get sendmail to work properly. The server only needs to send and not receive mail. I need it to be routed through an open relay which has ip address of 10.126.35.8.
Here's what I've done so far:
I have amended /etc/mail/sendmail.cf line: DS10.126.35.8
Code:
refresh -s sendmail

Code:
hcaidev [/etc/mail] #echo "test" | sendmail -v john.brickell@hansonplc.com

...and then I get the following error:
john.brickell@hansonplc.com... hansonplc.com: Name server timeout
john.brickell@hansonplc.com... Transient parse error -- message queued for future delivery
john.brickell@hansonplc.com... queued

Please help!!!

Quote:
Name server timeout
Sure looks more like a DNS issue than a sendmail issue.
