Help with UNIX
Dear forum members,

I'm a student of general linguistics and took additionally computational linguistics this semester. Now I'm getting more and more desperate because I'm unable to solve any of the homework assignments Smilie. I've read a lot about unix and its commands but that doesn't really help me with specific tasks. I sincerely hope you can give me some hints.

I've to write
  1. a pipeline that finds words which are immediatly repeated like "will will" and prints them to the screen.
  2. a pipeline that finds names consisting of two words like "New York" and sorts them by frequency.
  3. a script that reads a "verb" and prints the lines that contain this "verb". The sctipt should also consider suffixes.

UNIX problem? Unix programm runs windows 2000 CPU over 100%

Okee problems...!! What is happening: Unix server with some programms, workstations are windows 2000, the workstations work good but when you start a programm on the Unix server the CPU of the workstations go to 100% usage resulting that the system gets very slow.
