solaris filesystem
Dear all
can we create more than one file system in single slice?
I am using solaris 8 ultra spark machine.

Hello there. Sadly, from what I know, only one file system can be created per slice/ partition because logical device names are unique.

Fortunately, this implies that there are seven file systems that can be created per disk. Take care.

Filesystems are format dependent. That means when you create and format a disk partition, you do it based on the type of filesystem. When you mount a filesystem, you also mount it according to filesystem type.

This implies, as answered earlier, that only one filesystem type is possible per disk partition.
