You don't send emails to Outlook. Outlook is an email client, email reader or in tech jargon (MUA), mail user agent. Your Outlook client checks into a server and reports to you what it finds there or copy to a local destination.
In the Linux/Unix world we have many MUA. If you are using a GUI, you could use Thunderbird, Evolution, KMail, and many others. If you are using the command line interface there are many as well, like Mutt and Pine.
All of them must be configured, the same way that Outlook initially needed to be configured to connect to the server in charge of receiving from and sending emails to other servers.
