Ok I'm a Newb, Please Help

I am wanting to download the Linux Program. When i go to download it I see several things to download. What do i download exactly? Then what do I do to install it. Also I have partitioned my hard drive to make way for Linux on the other part to play with it, will any problems arise from this?

I am in college working towards a computers degree and am wanting to learn Linux a bit.

If these issues are covered somewhere would you please be so kind as to point me in the direction of that info please.

Thanks,

Seeto

Very good. Got the download site I am looking for. Now do i download all the files available or only certain ones?

You just need to download the iso images for the particular Linux distribution that you want to try. For a newbie, I'd probably recommend Fedora Core or Mandriva. But it's entirely up to you - it's all a question of personal preference, and the "distro A vs. distro B" arguments are forbidden here. My advice - download a few different Linux distributions and experiment until you find one that you're happy with. You can easily partition your system and boot multiple distros on the same box.

Cheers
ZB
