"More" command

Hi guys,

I am new in the Unix system and now I making my first moves to learn.
I have one question, if I have a text file that I created through cat command and I need to use the more command to provide me the first 2 screen fulls how can I do that? I search to internet but there is no many tutorials that provide this kind of solution. Any ideas? or let's say to see from the file the 3 to 5 screenfulls or etc.

Can you help?

How many lines is your screen?

you can type:

"man more" and read the help docs on it.

Seems like this option might help:

+linenumber Start up at linenumber.

If I were to learn UNIX, I would certainly start by the man pages...
depending OS more has options to go to lineNumber but normally when using more you are looking at a text file you want to see the content, unless you are a wizzard why would you want to start at the 3rd page?

What is important in using more for a beginner is to know to go forward / backward, quit, and search for a string

The man pages doesn't provide the question I need to find it. Except if there is something that I didn't see it. Please if you find it please let me know.
About the forward, backward or quit I already know.

About the 3rd page I need to start because the txt file has one specific page that I am interesting to check.
