Grep for uncomented lines

Hi,

I have the below in the hello.txt

Code:
http://google.com
#http://yahoo.com
https:gmail.com

I need to grep for "http" but ignore the second line that is commented because of the '#'

Can you help me with the grep condition ?

Sorry, let me correct my file entry as the suggestions fail for the below conditions.

Can you help me with this new condition.

Code:
siebel_url=http://google.com
#siebel_url=http://yahoo.com
portal_value=https://gmail.com

I need to grep for 'http' but the result should not have the second line as it is commented by the '#' letter.

Try :

Code:
$ cat file
siebel_url=http://google.com #siebel_url=http://yahoo.com portal_value=https:gmail.com

$ grep -Po '(?<=url=).*(?= #)'  file
http://google.com

--edit---

I just seen that you edited your input sample Smilie

Code:
$ grep 'http' file | grep -v '^#'
