Using the piece of code below within a makefile, I am getting nothing in variable YR. If I try the code at the command prompt it works fine. Please let me know what I'm doing wrong, or how I can achieve what I want. Thank you.
When you type at a command prompt you are talking to a shell which understands all of that shell syntax. A makefile is run by the make program which does not understand shell syntax. I do not know of a way for a make rule to run commands and set a make macro to the result.
I am using : << cut / cut to comment out block of code.
Works fine on few lines of script, then it gives me this cryptic error when I try to comment out about 80 lines.
The "warning " is at last line of script.
