Pass variables from a text file to a shell script

Hi,

I have a text file as follows:
a.txt
------
STEPS=3
STEP_DURATION=100
INTERVAL=60

I want to use these values in a shell script.

How to go about this?

change this a.txt file into cfg file.. and include the cfg path inside the script...

for example..
a.cfg
------
STEPS=3
STEP_DURATION=100
INTERVAL=60

sample.sh

#!/bin/sh

. /u/is/tmp/a.cfg (given the full path)

pls try this...

Note: The conversion of a.txt to a.cfg is not needed. You can use the name as such until it has proper variable names and values set accordingly. Smilie
