Autouser directory uniz

Hi Gurus,
I am new to unix, so my questions might be dumb, but please try to explain in detail as possible, so as to help me and many others.
I am trying to install autosys on unix environment. i have been looking at google, it talks about cd to autouser directory. Now my question is what is autouser and does it get created itself when we install unix?
thank you kindly!

There is no "autouser" thing in Unix.
Perhaps it is a directory or a Unix user created during installation of the autosys application?
Users are listed by command
cat /etc/passwd
or
getent passwd

I agree, 'autouser' sounds like something it creates on installation, or something it expects you to create for it.

Some context would be nice. Can you link to the documentation that's confusing you?

Thank You Corona688,
sorry, i could not post the link because I have to have five posts before I can post URL address on this website.
But I have copied and psted the content here.

AutoSys: UNIX
Cd to the "autouser" ($AUTOUSER) directory and "." (or source) the "ksh" file. Ex: ". ./autosys.ksh.machine" After installing AutoSys, first make sure that the DB is up and running. Check the installation by running the command chk_auto_up to verify connection to the DB and event processor.
Enter the KEYS through "gatekeeper", add keys
Run the "autosys_secure" command to set the AutoSys Edit and Exec Super users (and also to enter NT users/passwords)
Start the Event Processor by running the command "eventor"
Shutdown AutoSys: "sendevent -E STOP_DEMON"
To start the AutoSys GUI set your DISPLAY and run the command "autosc &".
NT: Start AutoSys from start->programs->AutoSys-> administrator ->Graphical User Interface ->Command Prompt

SO, MY QUESTION IS HOW DOES THIS AUTOUSER DIRECTORY GETS CREATED?

thank you all

It sounds like something autosys creates upon install -- especially since they give you an environment variable telling you where it is ($AUTOUSER).

I Agree. This autouser directory will be defined once the Autosys application is installed on the server.
