Configure BIND

I know how to manage DNS once it's installed. I can edit named.conf and create zone files. I can sign the zones, use TSIG, etc.

How do I take the BIND 9.9 tar ball from All Downloads | Internet Systems Consortium and install it and get it to work?

Maybe I am not getting it.

Can someone help me with the steps needed to untar that file and get a DNS server working? Once I can get named to run, I can edit the configuration file and create zone files. I am wanting to do some playing with DNSSEC and other things.

Thanks for any help!
