I need some assistance please. I'm setting up a SunOS 5.6 server and sofar I'm able to telnet into the unit but unable to telnet from it. Can anyone help me with this problem. When attempting to telnet from my SunOs to client
terminal I'm receving the following error, "Unable to connect to remote host:network unreachable" When attempting to ping another client terminal, I'm receving the following," ICMP Net unreachable from gateway (mygateways name) for ICMP from (mygateways name and IP addr) to (Clients IP addr)

Well, it seems like the server doesn't know how to reach the client.
You can try the command "netstat -r" to display the routing table, and check if everything is ok.
Also a "traceroute (ip address)" would help.

Remember, both computers has to be in the same lan, if not, they have to have an entry in the routing table that handles the route.

Check out the netstat -r as suggested and look for default. This would be your default route (See man page defaultrouter for set up)

Also, once you fix your route issue, then check if the client you are going to allow connections.
