UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi,

I have to apply service pack from cd. so i have to copy some file from cd to linux directory. Can any body help me what command to use access from cd and copy file.

First, you will have to know if the cd is already mounted.
If so, you should check /mnt/cdrom or /media/cdrom, depending the linux distro.

If it's not mounted at all, you have to know the dev entry of your cd-rom:

eg: /dev/hdc


then do a "mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom " /mnt/cdrom should be any directory in your disk. (empty, of course).
