XML Translator to run in UNIX

Hello, newbie (non-techie) here.

I'm a business analyst for a software company in the Bay Area. A
project I just got assigned to involved researching for an enterprise
version of a XML translator that will run on UNIX. I'm looking for
something that won't be too costly to purchase as the budget is very
small.
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

XML Parser to run in UNIX

Sorry for the vagueness.
We're looking for a parser that could:
1. Translate XML to flat file and vice-versa
2. Translate XML to an EDI file and vice versa
3. Validate the XML against a schema
4. Support XSDs

Thanks!

This might help whoever is trying to get an answer for this question. Try Stylus Studio. It looks like it gives you exactly what you want.

validating against a schema : XMLSpy is available

and xerces from apache.org

for XML to EDI and vice versa you could check edidev.com

and XML to flat file and the vice versa.. that should be definitely possible with a customized script itself, which is not that difficult to do Smilie
