UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

Hi
I was installing 10.04. At 38 minutes remaining it froze and stayed that way for about 2 hours. I shut it down and now It's "frozen" for lack of a better term. ubuntu screen comes up, goes to black screen with blinking cursor.
Anyone?

Now get black screen after blank screen which says:

Skipping profile in etc/apparmor.d/disable: user.bin.firefox

*Starting avgd...
speech-dispatcher disabled; edit /etc/default/speech-dispatcher
*Starting bluetooth
*PulseAudio configured for per-user sessions
saned disabled; edit /etc/default/saned
Rather invoking init scripts through /etc/init.d, use the service(8)
utility, e.g. service S90infmt-support start

Since the script you are attempting to invoke has been converted to an
Upstart job, you may also use the start(8) utility, e.g. start S90infmt-support
start: Unknown job: S90binfmt-support
*Checking battery state...

and the cursor blinks under it. I've had this laptop 2 years and as far as I know it doesn't have bluetooth Thanks again!
