Remote File Manipulation

I am trying to improve teh process of exporting files to SAGE LINE 50.
I am producing a CSV file and dropping it onto a Windows M/c running XP.

When SAGE picks up the import file it processes successfuuly but the file can still be imported an infinite number of times with obvious results.

I need an effective method od automating the renaming of the file to prevent multiple updates say by checking access times and ideally after one update.

Any ideas appreciated.

Can multiple files be loaded at a single time? That is, can a user kick off 1 process, and at the same time, another user kick off a different process?

Add a different file extension (.loaded or something to that effect) and the date & time stamp to the file once it has been loaded. Also, move the file out of the current dirrectory and into one that holds "loaded" files.

Thanks for the reply

Multiple files can co-exist quite happily as they are imported and processed by SAGE individually.

Once they have been processed I need to rename or move them automatically.
Ideally SAGE would do this but they seem ti discouarage easy comms between other packages.

I suppose I could mount the dos drive and run a Cron to examine the directory for files modified today or within a different time-slot. The files would normally be exported onto Windows PC on the previous night say at 23:00 hours.
