Question: Removing Files Using du

I want to identify files that have zero length, bascially files that are 0 byte in size. Then remove those files that are found using du.

I wanted to do this in a way that, let's remove 0 size jpg files:

foreach f (*jpg)
du $f
end

This will only list the size and file name, I wanted to know how to identify files that have 0 size from this.

dunno why you're using du but you can try this one in ksh ... it tests for empty files ...
Code:
for file in *.jpg
do
    [ ! -s $file ] && rm $file
done

I need to use tcsh but back to the original question,
I wanted to know how to store the value of the size into another variable, using du. Sorry for the confusion.

*I answered my question already, it is to use ` ` commmand to evaluate what's inside then do cut command to just get the size
Thanks

du - as in the disk usage command? I don't understand how you plan to remove files with du. More power to ya Smilie

Use the du command
Then use the cut command with the proper delimiter.
Another way is to use awk with ls -l
Do an ls -l
Put it in a file
Then use awk..
The problm is ls -l returns list of files with blank space as delimiter.

Thank
VEN
