I tried doing man getprivgrp but do not get manual for it. I am runing unix on Solaris flavour.. Does solaris has this method?

No it doesn't. See "man -s2 chown".

You need to add the following to the /etc/system

set rstchown = 0

look at man pages of chown for complete description
