Code:
#bash letsgo.sh
/bin/sh: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
2012/02/22 00:00:00 1334872800
#

in main line with awk I am changing "current < start" into "current > start", but no matter of condition: in result I see the same record Smilie

I assume that printing is working, but comparing is not working properly.

Any sugestion where I made a mistake ?

What happens when you paste this on the command line:
Code:
awk -F '^"|","|"$' -v start=1334872800 '{"date +%s -d \"2008/12/20 00:00:00\"" | getline current} current < start {print $10 " "current " " start}' lol.tmp

its printing all records because condition is always true:
Code:
"2008/12/20 00:00:00" < "2012/04/20 00:00:00".

In opposite direction it is working also:
Code:
# awk -F '^"|","|"$' -v start=1334872800 '{"date +%s -d \"2008/12/20 00:00:00\"" | getline current} current > start {print $10 " "current " " start}' lol.tmp

I cannot concatenate external command with string/variable in awk ?

About opposite direction - yes, you are right.

And this:
Code:
awk -F '^"|","|"$' -v start=1334872800 '{"date \"+%s\" -d \"" $10 "\"" | getline current} current < start {print $10 " "current " " start}' lol.tmp

(I put quotes around "+%s" )

still the same:
Code:
