Looking at methyl's las post (greetings my friend...) I realized you were maybe talking of something else that I suppose generate SIGINT: Someone loging out or closing his connection...
Would that be the case?
Which leaves you with use nohup or at... (using & to execute a program in background will also terminate at logout)

nohup will work... it is designed for to avoid termination when you leave (logout)
Maybe if you explained a bit what you are on: What is your script supposed to do? Is it a deamon launcher?

The script actually triggers a datastage job (The job immediately gets abended due to SIGINT error.).

The datastage jobs gets kicked out?
Can you show us the culprit line?

And you never said (and we have nevers asked Smilie ...) Did it ever work? (very important to know what to do from now...)

You know what, it reminds me of a silly situation I had long ago where some dba modified users profiles, and they got kicked out at all login attempts Smilie The poor guy added an exit that changed the behaviour of the menu execution using exec...

Yes. The job is kicking out and immediately the log throws "Aborted due to SIGINT" and it's failing. whenever we stop the datastage job manually , we used to get the above error. But in this case without stopping manually, the same error is thrown in the log.
Thanks

Tried to add a function to my control_c interrupt here. It works but has one little bug.
