Basic Unix Question
Respected Dear Sir,
Sir i need some help it is dificult to ask u such a begginer question because all of you are very intelligent persons.
Sir i want to insatll unix in some basic steps because the book i consult according to that method there are many rpoblem occure i have an intel base system
sir please kindly advise me the procedure to install,

there are many flavors. i recommend to get knoppix.
http://www.knoppix.org/
it will work without installing to a hard disk.. just insert CD

Sir i see that but that is for linux is it applicable for unix system too

linux is a free unix-type operating system

If you are using an Intel system you could use Linux, BSD (FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD), or Solaris. These are all "flavours" of UNIX. Please have a look at our Frequently Asked Questions area for more information.
