Using find
I have the following code that lists files, except those ending .xy and .ps

Not sure if I need the backslashes to keep the shell from interpreting the characters and sends them on to find.

Code:
find . \( \! -name "*\.xy" \! -name "*\.ps" \! -type f \) -print

Also not sure of something as below
Code:
ls -F1 !(*.xy *.ps) | grep '\b$'

# 2

You can execute this code without "\ and ()" in your first post.
